The Mission
Our mission is to provide affordable and sustainable fashion access. We aim to reduce fashion waste, promote conscious consumerism, and create an inclusive environment where users can refresh their wardrobes sustainably, give old clothes a new life, and find meaningful connections through our events in our boutique.
The Challenge
Many university students face the challenge of balancing their desire to stay fashionable with a limited student budget. The high costs of sustainable clothing and lack of alternatives make it difficult for students to afford trendy outfits while also dealing with the limited space in their accommodation. At the same time, there is growing awareness of the environmental impact of fast fashion, which produces 10% of global carbon emissions and contributes to unsustainable consumption patterns. As eco-consciousness increases, students are looking for more sustainable alternatives. Additionally, while online second-hand platforms exist, students prefer local, accessible options that allow them to easily borrow clothes without the environmental costs associated with shipping.
The solution
Our solution at ShareStyles is to make fashion more sustainable and affordable by offering a flexible borrowing model for second-hand clothes and building a community that cares about reducing waste and making eco-conscious choices. ShareStyles is a boutique in the idyllic city centre of Maastricht, Netherlands. The ShareStyles boutique operates within a shared space with a local café. ShareStyles fosters a community for eco-conscious individuals, providing a space where members can connect, exchange fashion ideas, and contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle.
