The Challenge

The Study Hub addresses two major issues in the tutoring industry: under compensation of tutors and the high costs students face, especially for group sessions. Traditional platforms often pay tutors as little as €18 per hour while charging students more than three times that amount, particularly for group sessions. This approach undervalues tutors’ expertise and leads to unaffordable prices for students.

The solution

Our solution at The Study Hub is to create a more equitable tutoring platform that benefits both tutors and students by addressing tutor undercompensation and high student fees. 1) Fair Tutor Compensation: The Study Hub allows tutors to set their own rates and takes a lower commission than traditional platforms, ensuring tutors are fairly compensated for their expertise and time. This approach empowers tutors to earn more from each session, whether one-on-one or group, compared to other platforms where most earnings are retained by corporations. 2) Affordable for Students: By reducing platform fees and enabling tutors to directly manage their pricing, The Study Hub offers more affordable tutoring options for students. In group sessions, tutors can charge lower per-student rates while still earning more than on other platforms. This approach makes high-quality tutoring accessible to more students, ensuring affordability without sacrificing quality. 3) Flexible Learning Options: The Study Hub offers both online and in-person tutoring sessions, providing flexibility for students to choose the option that best fits their schedule and learning style. Tutors can also optimize their earnings across both formats.
