At the forefront of winter sports and mapping technology, E-Slope provides winter sport enthusiasts not only with a dynamic map and route planning feature but also with a tracker, social features and live information like traffic on lifts and slopes. This allows users to easily navigate a ski area, making their time on the slopes more convenient and valuable. Furthermore ski resorts have the ability to observe and organise their ski area more efficiently and i.e. share relevant information and news regarding safety on lifts and slopes. Schools and rentals could use E-Slope to share information on events, discounts, ski lessons and more.

The Challenge

When going skiing or snowboarding in the mountains, one can be overwhelmed by the number of slopes and lifts that ski resorts have to offer. Compared to dynamic digital maps, physical maps are often inconvenient to use as they are less accurate and do not offer smart route planning.

The solution

The dynamic and customizable map allows users to interact with the app and help the user plan their next ski run from any location to other points of interest such as ski lifts, restaurants, mountain peaks and more. The map comes in 2D and terrain mode which provides for a topographic view of the terrain. The key feature of the ski navigator app is the ability to get routes of ski slopes and lifts according to the user’s skill level and preferences. When searching for routes E-Slope provides the expected time to finish a certain route including waiting times at lifts if necessary. Users also benefit from some additional information on demand such as operating hours of lifts, traffic at lifts as well as slope difficulty and conditions.
