The Mission

Our mission is to transform the way stores handle packaging by implementing a closed-loop, deposit-return system to eliminate the use of single-use plastic bags. Customers will be able to pick up durable, eco-friendly and comfortable bags from stores, use them, and return them for a deposit refund.

The Challenge

The project tackles the issue of single-use plastic bags, a significant contributor to plastic pollution. Despite recycling efforts, many plastic bags still end up in landfills or oceans. As well as efforts to encourage consumers to buy and bring reusable cotton bags, the biggest problem is that people often forget to bring their own bags, leading to continued reliance on plastic bags.

The solution

This zero-waste and zero-plastic solution introduces a returnable, reusable bag system with a deposit-return, making it easier for consumers to adopt sustainable choices and drastically reduce plastic waste.
