The Mission
Our mission is to provide a scalable, sustainable solution to the housing shortage that meets current needs while contributing to a greener future. We aim to develop a model that not only minimizes the ecological footprint but also fosters social interaction through shared energy systems. Through this approach, we hope to inspire others to contribute to housing development and the energy transition in an innovative, sustainable way.
The Challenge
The Netherlands faces a major challenge: the housing shortage, coupled with the need to reduce pressure on our electricity grid. This calls for innovative solutions that not only create housing but also prioritize sustainability. Our mission is to tackle this housing shortage sustainably, without adding further strain on the electricity grid. We aim to create smart networks, minimize emissions, and avoid plastic in our building methods.
The solution
We present the "House of the Future." This innovative housing concept is prefabricated with a focus on sustainability and circularity. The key features of the House of the Future include: - Solar Chimney: Provides natural ventilation and energy efficiency. - Straw Insulation: An eco-friendly insulation solution that ensures optimal thermal performance. - No Concrete: Avoiding concrete, which has a high carbon footprint. - Fully Recyclable: All materials are designed to be reused or recycled at the end of their lifespan. - Long-Term Heat Storage: The house (or neighborhood) is equipped with systems to efficiently store and utilize heat. - Electric Storage: For sustainable energy storage, ensuring a stable energy supply in the most eco-friendly way possible. - Social Responsibility: The energy systems are designed to operate at the community level, strengthening neighborhoods and enabling shared energy resources.
