The Mission

CoolAnt aims to develop a revolutionary cooling technology. We took inspiration from the Saharan silver ants to develop a microscaled coating which results in a decrease in preceived temperature of -5 ºC. This cooling technology can be used for several applications like military and workout clothing, tents, etc. CoolAnts mission is to prevent overheating for its users during physical activities or harsh weather conditions without limiting the mobility of the user.

The Challenge

Especially during long workouts or hikes, over-heating is not an uncommon problem. This can lead to major problems such as dehydration and health problems when not adressed. Current cooling technologies contain bulky and heavy cooling packs, which lose efficiency over time.

The solution

To tackle this problem, a cooling technology can be developed which works at microscale. This approach would eliminate the usage of bulky cooling packs, allowing users to experience active cooling without any discomforts. This technology can offer major advantages for athletes or the military, enabling them to perform optimally thanks to the active cooling without the need of cooling packs.
