The Mission

SimplePark’s mission is to empower individuals and communities by connecting private driveway owners with drivers, creating opportunities to rent out unused parking spaces and, where applicable, electric vehicle (EV) charging points. By providing a platform that combines parking and EV charging capabilities, SimplePark not only optimizes parking utilization but also allows driveway owners with solar panels to monetize surplus energy, reducing waste and accelerating the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon society.

The Challenge

With the netting arrangement set to end in 2027, the ability for solar panel owners to earn money by feeding surplus energy back into the grid will be significantly reduced. This creates a growing need for alternative ways to make use of surplus energy. At the same time, EV users are facing challenges finding reliable and convenient charging infrastructure, while driveway owners with unused parking spaces and chargers lack a streamlined way to share these resources. This disconnect leads to inefficient use of parking and energy, as well as a missed opportunity to address the increasing demand for EV charging solutions.

The solution

SimplePark offers a seamless app-enabled solution that allows private driveway owners to rent out unused parking spaces and monetize their EV chargers and surplus solar energy. This platform directly addresses the challenges posed by the end of the netting arrangement by enabling solar panel owners to turn their energy into an income source for EV charging. In doing so, SimplePark provides a win-win scenario where driveway owners gain a flexible revenue stream, EV drivers benefit from greater access to localized charging options, and traffic congestion is reduced through efficient resource use. By integrating parking and energy solutions into a user-friendly platform, SimplePark supports a more sustainable and decentralized system that benefits individuals, communities, and the environment.
